Privacy Policy

UninstallGuard is a focused Mac uninstaller. It finds the files an app leaves across your Mac, explains every result, and moves only what you select to the Trash. This policy explains what data the app touches and what, if anything, ever leaves your Mac. The short version: UninstallGuard keeps your data on your Mac. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.

Data that stays on your Mac

To do its job, UninstallGuard reads information about the apps and files on your Mac - names, paths, sizes, bundle identifiers, and similar metadata - and analyzes it on your device only to decide which files belong to the app you are removing. The contents of your files are not read for analysis, and nothing about your files is sent to us or anyone else.

UninstallGuard keeps a local History of what it removed - the original and Trash locations of each item, whether it succeeded, and the result of the follow-up scan - so a removal is reviewable and recoverable. This history is stored only on your Mac, in your user Library (Application Support), and never leaves your device. You can clear it from within the app.

Permissions

To scan the protected areas of your Library where app leftovers live, macOS may ask you to grant UninstallGuard Full Disk Access. Everything read through it is processed on your Mac and never transmitted. You can grant or revoke it at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access. UninstallGuard does not use Accessibility, Screen Recording, your Camera, Microphone, Contacts, or Calendar.

Removal is recoverable

UninstallGuard's own removal flow moves items to the macOS Trash and has no permanent-delete path. Nothing is preselected: a scan is information, not permission, and you choose what leaves before anything moves.

When UninstallGuard connects to the internet

UninstallGuard makes network connections in only two situations, both of which you control:

Your purchase is processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, under Paddle's privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. UninstallGuard does not use analytics SDKs, advertising, tracking cookies, or crash-reporting services, and it does not require you to create an account.

Our license service (hosted on Cloudflare) and our payment processor (Paddle) run on infrastructure that may be located in the United States, so the limited data described above - your license key, a hashed device fingerprint, and, for a purchase, the details you provide to Paddle - may be processed there. Where this involves transferring the personal data of users in the EU, EEA, or UK to another country, we and these providers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, under their data-processing terms.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data lives only on your Mac, you can remove it - your history and settings - by deleting UninstallGuard and its Application Support folder. We do not hold a copy to delete on your behalf. We retain only the license and activation records needed to honor your purchase and enforce the device limit.

Who controls your data and your rights

UninstallGuard is published by Schaun Johnson, trading as SKJ Apps. For any question about this policy or the limited data described here, contact support@uninstallguard.app. We process your license key and a hashed activation label to deliver and honor your purchase and to enforce the three-device limit; your payment details are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, as an independent controller under Paddle's privacy policy.

If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or California, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the license and activation records we hold, and you may object to or restrict that processing, by emailing support@uninstallguard.app. We may need to keep the records required to honor an active purchase or to comply with law. EU, EEA, and UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority.

Children

UninstallGuard is a utility not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
